50 in the Forest

Donadea Forest Park once again hosted the national 50km championships on Saturday. The running conditions in the county Kildare woodland was ideal for the time of year. The race consisted of ten 5 kilometres laps which tested the mental strength as well as the physical endurance of the runners. Ultra running enthusiast Mark Melia had another good run when crossing the line in 4h17m. Robert Farrell made his ultra running debut with an great time of 4h31m. The Trim line up was completed by David Hawcroft who is truly a master and veteran of endurance events.He came home first in the over 65 grade with a time of 5h24m.
