All Ireland "B" Competition
Well done to all who competed today in the All Ireland "B" competition. 5 medals in total - 2 Golds, 2 Silvers and a Bronze
Not a bad days work at all : )
Holly O'Donnell was up first and think the nerves got the better of her to-day. But we know Holly is so much better than that and the weather certainly put her off. With over 30 competitors in her events the legs were cold and it was along wait for her jumps in between each one and also a long wait for the 600m. Holly always though has a smile and that's what we love to see. Chin up Holly we know you'll get there and keep on smiling.
Jennifer Nugent competed in 100m and Long Jump, Jennifer was in the first heat up for the 100m and stormed through coming in 1st in her heat.
The final was tougher but Jennifer managed to stay up coming in 2nd place overall. Up came her Long Jump and the weather was against her. She kept her best jump for the final round where her 4.60m effort was 40cm ahead of her nearest rival.
Adam Boylan competed in the 800m. They called the U/15 Boys for the 800m and it took them awhile to get started. It was a cold and windy start but Adam pushed his way through even with injury during the week and came in 2nd place with a new PB also of 2:16.71
Patrick Brophy competed in the 800m. Again as with Adam it was a slow start for these lads. The nerves were up there but that didn't put Patrick off his game and what a finish it was, the head made it over the line and got him 3rd place overall and with a new PB also of 2:17.62
Zoe McEvoy competed in the Long Jump. Again the weather was against Zoe but she managed to win the GU16 LJ with a 4.58m effort giving her a comfortable margin of victory.
