Action in Kinnity and Dublin

Adventures in Kinnity

The national adventure race series came to Kinnity Co Offaly on Saturday 17 August. The testing terrain of the Slieve Bloom mountains was the setting for the second running of the OFF THE BLOOM race. Ellen Vitting finished second in the elite race, Denise Molloy was third in shorter course the sport class. In the mens race Rory Quinn finished 4th.

 Dublin Triathlon at Islandbridge and the Phoenix Park. 

One of the country's largest races - the Dublin City Triathlon is staged in the iconic Phoenix Park each year. This year saw almost 900 athletes take part in the Age Group Sprint Distance National Championships - round 13 of the BMW Triathlon National Series.

Unlike the days prior to the race, the weather stayed dry although blustery but provided good conditions for triathlon. Also taking place at Dublin City Triathlon were the Elite National Championships. Ernest Asensio Blasco was 2nd M45  in the Sport distance in a time of 1.02.33. In the Elite ditance Jonathan Nangle completed the course in 1.03.44.

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
