Another national title for Shane Aston

At the combined events championships at Morton Stadium Shane Aston once again won the senior decathlon with 6776 points with good competitive scores in the 100m (11.15), long jump (6.59m), high jump (1.93m), 110 hurdles (15.15) and javelin (52.86m). Brian Lynch (Lusk) was on 4,657 points. Shane is the leading mens combined eventer in the country over the past few years with senior decathlon and indoor heptathlon titles. He is now targetting the magic 7000 points total at international level over the summer.

Shot Putt 13.09m 673pts;

High Jump 1.93m 740pts;

400m 52.08secs 721pts;

110Hurdles 15.15secs 831pts;

Discus 37.81m 620pts;

Pole Vault 4.00m 617pts

Javelin 52.86m 631pts;

1500metres 5.30.33 398pts

Join our club

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
