Busy duathlon weekend

Dundalk win for Ellen Vitting.
The Setanta Tri Club staged the second race of its three race spring duathlon series at Ravendale, Dundalk on Sunday. The rough wet and windy weather of Saturday night had eased off just in time for the race start.
In the ladies race Ellen Vitting, of Trim AC and Tri an Mhi, was untroubled posting a very respectable 57.36 min to take the honours. This is a podium improvement for Ellen from 3rd place and 90 seconds shaving off her previous course best, setting her nicely into the start of the triathlon season. Her club mate, Marie Gorman, recorded a steady performance improving by 3 mins on her previous race. Newry Tri athlete Ciara Havern

The next Sportsman’s Duathlon Race is April 26th.
National victory for David Hawcroft.
The national Duathlon Champ[ionship took place in Ennis on Sunday. Trim AC athlete David Hawcroft who is one of Irelands most successful masters endurance eventers won the 70-75 age group in a time of 2.12.
