Busy September schedule

OPW RACE
The road running and premarathon running season got into full swing last weekend with a plethora of races around the immediate area. In Trim on Saturday morning the OPW hq on Dean Swift St was the registration and presentation HQ for their nsecond 5km trail run. The race which was staged over a two and ahalf lap course in the near Porchfields drew runners form all the main corporate running teams and a number of one day independents to Trim. All runners received a complementary family pass to Trim Castle. The race is part of the BHAA series was organised by Andrew Davies witht eh assistance of Trim AC and the OPW staff charity fundraising group Brightside (under the guidance of local lady, Mary Fallon)
The course was a challenging 5km route with a fair smattering of hills undertaken. the ground was well drained and dried out by Saturday morning (despite the torrents of Friday)
The top Trim finisher was Kieran Corcoran in a time of 19.25,Other Trim runners were Martin Brogan 22.03,Barry Clarke, 22.11, Aidan Gormley,26.06,Aisling O Reilly,27.06
Maynooth 5km
Jonathon Nangle finished second Junior in the Maynooth 5km last weekend. Jonathon ran a great time of 18.09. In the same race Audrey McHale came home in a very good time of 22.26. Ratoath 5km had over 600 runnrs on Sunday morning. Martin Brogan ran 21.06.
Flatline Half
The Flatline Half Marathon in Athlone continues to develop and increase its profile. It attracted nearly 1000 runners last Saturday morning from the four corners of Ireland. They were all seeking a confidence boosting performance in their preparation for the DCM on the flat roads around the midlands town. Well done to our trio who put in such fine efforts

Donadea Duathlon
Donadea Forest Park and the roads around Steeplestown and Derrycrib were the scene of the third round of the Donadea Cyclin Clubs duathlon series on Saturday morning. Ellen Vitting was on the podium once again. Ellen has had a great duathlon season and her 62 minute effort last weekend was another fine result. Also taking part form Trim AC were Paul Hegarty 1.14.21,David Hawcroft,1.20.29, Owen Creevey,1.18.48. Mark Boshell,1.19.41.
CROSS COUNTRY SEASON STARTS
The Star of the Sea AC cross country is the start of the season race. The event take place at Greenanstown near Bellewstown Racecourse on sunday 27 Sept. Full program for underage, juniors, seniors and masters.
LONGWOOD CALLING
Our club is involved in this race with Longwood GAA Club. It is one of the best 10km races you will find. The generally flat nature of the course will give runners a fair opportunity to get a confidnce boosting time in advance of the cross country season and the Dublin Marathon
Longwood Village 10K & 5K- Road Race / Fun Run

County Cross Country. Freyne near Athboy will be the venue for the Meath Masters cross country championships. There will individual grades for men and women in 40/45/50/55/60 and 2 team grades M/W 40 + and 50+. Sunday 11 Oct 11 am for boys and girls under 9/11/13/15/17 and Master races at 12 noon.We want all hands on deck for the team. This race will be a good run for marathoners on a flattish course with excellent under foot conditions during what should be the tapering off period.
