Connemarathon 2014
David Hawcroft, took a more relaxed approach to the rigours of Connemarathon this year after a winter of interrupted training. He made a decision to take part in the half marathon in Connemara this year alongside his daughter Catherine. In recent years he has completed and got among the age group prizes for the full and the ultra. Ollie Carty picked one of the toughest marathons in the country for his debut and came home in a very good time of 3h37 in spite of the hilly final 4 miles and enduring 4 seasons in one morning. In the ultra race Mark Melia got stuck into the task of 50km of hills and wilderness with relish.
