Decathlon Title for Shane

Aston who is part of the AAI combined events squad took part in the junior decathlon. His day oneset of five events resulted in three personal best performances in the 100m, long jump and 400m as well as solid efforts in the shot putt and high jump. He was equal first on 3247 points on Saturday evening. Day two on Sunday started with a big personal best of 15.7 in the 110m hurdles, The discus, one of Shanes specialist events followed and he once again pulled out all the stops to increase his personal best with a 36.4m throw. Later in the day he went on the javelin runway to throw over 51 metres for the first time with a senior javelin. He consolidated the gains made in his throws with a good run in the 1500m to claim victory.
