Trim AC was well represented in the race with David Hawcroft, Brian Cully, Ciaran Tobin, Ann Tobin, Peter Millen, Emma Parkinson, Anita Rogers, Laura Cotter, Ellen Vitting taking part. The race which is in its fifth year attracted over 350 compeitiors was directed by Longwood man Paul Mahon and his company Outfront Events.. The Trim Athletic Club group were joined on the trails by David Hawcrofts daughter Catherine Browne.
Just five days after her Dublin City Marathon, Ellen Vitting put in another great performance to finish third woman overall in a time of 79 minutes. Last month Ellen underlined her huge ability in multi discipline adventure racing with a brilliant second place in the elite international category of the Killarney Adventure Race. Laura Cotter was third in W40 grade and Ann Tobin finished 4th in same category.
The post race comments among the group were very favourable and they will be encouraging more members of the club to run through the hills next year for this very deserving cause.
