Intermediate Cross Country Team Title

Trim AC mens team scored a great win in the Meath Intermediate XC championships at Fr Murphy AC grounds in Frayne on Sunday 13 October. The weather cleared up for the mens and womens races having been fairly grim during the under age races.
David O Connor battled out the middle part of the race with eventual winner Fergus Crilly, Rathkenny AC and with local runner Liam Cunningham over the last two kilometres. David is a relative newcomer to distance running and is learning race tactics every time he goes to a start line. He dug in for a gritty performance over the final kilometre to fend off his pursuers from Fr Murphy and st Brigids to take the bronze and lead his team toan historic win.
Paraic Farrell and Ernest Asensio Blasco ran well together throughout to strenghten the teams position with Enda Markey relishing the terrain to finish as our fourth scorer. There was strong showing from our club right though the field with good runs by Trevor McDonnell, Andrew Guy and Peter Duffy completing the team.
In the womens race Mary Carr put in another strong run in what has been a year of steady improvement which will give her a lot of confidence for the Dublin marathon. Claire Smith was pleased with her return to cross country racing after a two year layoff.
