Uneven Cross Country
Fr Murphy AC hosted the second day of the county XC championships at their wonderful venue in Frayne. The underfoot conditions were like the fairways of a championship gold course. Two days on rain made no impression on the green sward .The mens and womens intermediate races attracted good fields and Trim placed 4 in both races.
Well done to Kieran Corcoran who put in a storming run with a very strong finish. Enda Markey put in a strong effort for top 20 finish, Andy Linsley gave the legs a speedy workout in advance of the Mournes, ultra cyclist Mickey Molloy got his feet back on the ground and we were delighted to welcome to Padraig Farrell in his first race for Trim. (Placings were Kieran 6th Padraig 19th Enda 20th Andrew 23rd Michael 29th}
In the womens race Claire Smith put the exertions of the previous days Rosemount Half (where sshe finished 3rd W40) while Ann Tobin rolled back the years finishing second Trim runner home. Next in was Sharon Costello who was very pleased that her first ever CC cship run went so well and a welcome return for Sarah Cribben to cross country running (her favourite terrain)
Placings Claire 16th Ann 20th Sharon 20th Sarah 36th.
