Leinster Even Age Cross Country - Navan Racecourse

Well done to all our Juvenile Athletes who took part in the Leinster Even Age Cross Country held in Navan Racecourse on Saturday. The course was extremely tough and was said it was a proper cross country course and on a cold and windy day made it even worse. With 20 of our athletes on the day, we saw some great quality performances. This course had plenty of long hills and also with sharp twists and turns made it a challenging one.

Up first we had the U/10 girls who performed to the highest of quality and gained great experience for the 1K run.

Our U/12 girls were up next and with over a 150 athletes competing they sure did us proud with some having to move up an age group to compete. They powered through a very fast, competitive 2K race.

Next up was our U/12 Boys, with both boys having to move up an age group and with this fast pace again, we had some great results where over 120 competed in this age group. They powered through this tough course.

U/14 Girls were up next and with a tough 3K ahead of them, they went like a bat out of hell. Again with some having to move up an age group we had Katie Mulchrone who competed for the first time in Leinsters just missing out on the top 12 to compete in the All Ireland Championships.

U/14 Boys up next, with 95 competing in this competition, these  lads pushed their way through the crowds from the onset.  Again with a fast pace they dug deep throughout the race and battled hard in a hugely competitive race.

U/16 Girls, both these girls had to move up an age group, with seconds to start Ava just made it, but this did not phase her at all, with exceptional runs from both these athletes and a 4K run, they certainly gave it their all.

U/16 Boys was the final event for our young athletes, with all having to move up an age group, they were on fire. Again this was a fast pace race where we had Patrick Brophy just missing out on a Meath team medal.

Well done to all again.
