Meath 2018 Masters cross country and juvenile CC league was hosted by our club in Porchfields Trim. Trim AC are very grateful to Meath Co Council and the OPW for permitting the use of this great amenity for the event. Thanks to all from Meath Athletics Board particularly Paddy Mangan, Brendan Meade, Tommy Boshell, Maureen Gilsenan and Maggie Higgins.
Throughout this cross country season Trish Duffy, John Rowe and their daughter Caoimhe Rowe have got through a mountain of background work with recording and registration. In the juvenile section of our club Mary Carr, Mairead Hefferrnan, Anke Hannuka, Louise Cotter,Ernest Asensio Blasco, Paula Hegarty,Elaine McEvoy and Pat Comey have pulled out all the stops to get the young candystripes organised on the day and out running. Special thanks to the masters from our own club who flew the flag with pride on the home patch and had a succesful day in team and individual grades. Well done to the athletes of all ages who travelled from around the county to take part.
The course which was expertly laid out by Pat Comey and Martin Brogan was in tip top condition.Marshalling by Stephen O Neill, Rob Farrell,Andrew Linsley and David Hawcroft. The safety of participants and traffic was facilitated by Sgt Tom Mahon once again. Colr Trevor Golden assisted in our work with the local authority.John Magee was out and about snapping and capturing the scenes and the setting as always. Photos were taken by Andy Reilly who was quick to offer his services and catch the action and leave me free to struggle again elemnts, environs and age at the back of the M50s!!
