National Award for Harry Purcell

Congratulations to Harry Purcell who was awarded the ATHLETICS IRELAND Schools Athletic Achievement awards at a ceremony in Dublin today. Last May he recorded a memorable senior boys 400m 800m double in the schools championships finals.

This exceptional young athlete turned out 1m49s for 800m (new schools record and European qualifying standard) and 47s83 for the 400m inside two hours. He has earned and deserves this National recognition of his talent. He began the year in brilliant form medalling at the national senior indoor championships with a very gutsy display in Athlone.

 

Join our club

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
