Well done to Sean Murphy (48th) David O'Connor (117) and Andrew Linsley (173) on their impressive contributions to the Meath effort at the National Novice XC at Dunboyne. The Meath county squad finished 6th in the inter county competition.
In the under age races we were very well represented by nine of our young athletes. Joey Hegarty was well placed in the B13s coming home 43rd despite parting company with a shoe in the midway through the race. Kallie (25) and Robyn Larkin (35) were the leading Meath finishers in the G13 race and they were also spotted in a shoe search and rescue operation.
In the G17 race we were able to field a full team. A really strong performance by Ava Costello brought her to 16th place. She was part of the gold winning Leinster squad. In the inter county category Ava was joined by Aoife Gallagher (63) on the Meath squad which made it to third place. The club squad gave a great account of themselves with strong runs by Emma Gibney (69) and Taylor Stack (71) to finish seventh club team in the country. This result indicates the potential of our girls teams as they head towards the junior womens category.
In the B17 race Seamus Anderson put in a very steady effort to finish well up and among the best of the Meath runners. Tim Halton had a strong run also.
