Ellen is hill champ

Running conditions were great for the Meath Hill Running championships which took place in Mullaghmeen near Oldcastle last Saturday. The St Brigids Athletic Club once again organised a great event and looked after all the runners and their supporters with their usual hospitality afterwards.

Trim AC had a first ever team victory and individual overall win when Ellen Vitting led our womens team home with a cumulative score of 173 points. Placings were 22/45/52/54 Womens placings-.Ellen Vitting 1st overall woman,Ann Tobin 1 W50
Emma Parkinson 2nd W40,Anita Rogers 3rd W40
All of the above were scoring members of the womens team

In the mens team event Trim AC scored 110 points to finish second with the placings 7/29/34/40.The mens team was led home by Dermot Leonard, Ollie Carty, Declan Swords, Peter Millen and Martin Brogan.In the individual age groups Martin Brogan was 2nd M50

Road Race Round Up.

The Mullingar Half Marathon was staged for the first time on St Patricks Day. Clare Smith put in a great run to come home in 1h35m and win the W40 category. On Sunday 22 March Sean Murphy travelled to county Cork for the very popular Mallow 10 mile road race. He set a great new personal best time of 56m51s and placed second in the M40 grade. David Hawcroft once again topped the M65 class at the Naas Tri clubs second Butchers Block duathlon at Punchestown.

 
Emo Forest Run, Portarlington St Michael’s AC is proud to announce this year’s Good Friday Forest Run 8K, which will take place through the forest trails and scenic grounds of historic Emo Court, in Emo, Co. Laois. This AAI Approved race will be chip timed, and the run will have a start time of 6:00pm. Walkers are also welcome, and will have an earlier start time of 5:30pm

Join our club

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
