Fingal 10km
The second round of the Dublin Race Series which facilitates those preparing for the Dublin City Marathon took place in Swords on Sunday.
The Fingal 10km attracted over 3000 entries and such was the size of the field that organisers had to use a wave start system. Laura Cotter ran 44m11s and Mary Carr came in just under the fifty in 49m19s.
Oldcastle 5km
St Brigids AC hosted their annual 5km road race in glorious summer conditions last Wednesday evening. Ann Tobin was 3rd in W50 grade. The club team of Ann Tobin, Anita Corrigan, Carrie Brogan and Trish Duffy were third club team. Trim Results as follows, Martin Brogan,21.04;Ann Tobin,22.53;John Rowe,23.04;Anita Corrigan,24.23;Carrie Brogan,25.52;Trish Duffy,56.
Duathlon victory for Ellen Vitting
Donadea Wheelers organised a 5km and duathlon at Donadea Forest Park last Saturday morning. There was a great victory for Ellen Vitting in the duathlon ahead of Bronagh Rogers and Helen White. Ellen had a brilliant bike phase which brought her right up through the field and completed the course in an impressive time of 61m36s. Stephen Keane continued his great sequence of results with another great performance just outside the hour and the top ten with 11th place and a time of 60m15s. The other duathlon finishers were Gearoid Rogers,67m36;Denise Molloy,69m06s;Ciaran Tobin,70m23s;Anita M Corrigan,84m20s.
In the 5km race Mark McGee led a strong Trim contingent home with an excellent third place overall in 17m52s; Enda Markey was close behind in 18m17s;Conrad McGonagle,22.16;Sharon Flynn McGee,28m08s.
Kinnegad success for Sean Murphy
There was a great victory in the M40 grade for Sean Murphy at the Kinnegad 5km last Wednesday evening. The competition was fierce hot in this race with an impressive winning run by Martin Fagan from Mullingar Harriers. Our club had a good night and a number of them set new pbs on what was essentially a flat course which took runners alon g the straight flat Killucan road before returning on the Wood Boreen to a main street finish on what was up until recently the "Crossroads of Ireland "The Trim AC results were: Sean Murphy,16.33Mark Melia,18.10Enda Markey,18.14Dermot Leonard,18.18Stephen Keane,18.27Robert Farrell,19.31; David Murray,19.35;Laura Cotter,20.47Conrad McGonagle,22.12; Brian Cully,22.16Heather Carty,22.17Linda Lewis,22.17;Jeff O Connor,22.27Ann Tobin,22.37;John McMorrow,22.33Sheila Quinn,24.15Carrie Brogan,24.16Jaime Gartland,24.17Suzanne Mc Govern,24.57.
 
Euro league decathlon
Shane Aston has had a superb season in combined events competition including as string of pbs in Madeira at the European Second League event.He set a decathlon pb of 6395 points which included personal bests in the 100m, javelin and 1500m.
His stats were; 100m, 11.76s;Long Jump,6.49m;Shot Putt,11.57m; High Jump,1.89m;400m,51.56m;110mH,15.81s;Discus,29.25m;Pole Vault,3.80m;Javelin,57.68m;1500m,4m58s.59.
Two Provinces Tri
The 2 Provinces Triathlon took place in Lanesboro over the weekend and two of our club members took part. Quinton Bourke led the Meath contingent home in a great time of 1h09, Paul Smith completed it in 1h19 and David Hawcroft was first in age group M65 with a 1h34m effort.Elizabeth Payne was well placed in her age group with a time of 1h30.

Donadea 5km on Friday 25 July 7.30pm organised by Donadea Running Club. Venue is Donadea Forest Park just 2km off the Kilccok/Clane Road.
Streets of Athboy 5km Friday 8th August 8pm organised by Fr Murphy AC.
Sunday 17th August 2014 - The Indaver Duleek 10K Road Race, hosted by Duleek & District Athletic Club, commencing at 10am

SHEELIN CHALLENGE
There will be a very novel 3 county 16 mile race through Meath Cavan and Westmeath "The Sheelin Challenge" from the Mountnugent/Ballinacree area in August. Details to follow. Great prep race for aspiring marathoners. Dont miss out. Online entry open and details on the St Brigids AC website.
