Robert reflects on his Chicago Marathon

Chicago 2019 what can I say an amazing marathon and city.
The cheers and support was unrelenting. The picture on the left sums up my day. Enjoyed every second of it and the picture on the right is my No 1 supporter who without her I wouldn't be able to do these events. She's one in a million and I really appreciate what she sacrifices with me training all the time. Her and Mya. Because marathon training takes up a lot of time but I love it. It really helps with my depression and helps keep me focused and looking forward and not in my head all the time. I wont lie I've been in a dark place over the last year at times and with Tara and Mya and my family and friends behind me it's a huge help. I really appreciate what they all do for me. I'm very lucky.
Ill be going on to my next adventure which will be my biggest test to date and the training begins soon. So no rest for the wicked. I cant wait for the challenge.
Last but not least again thanks to everyone for all the kind messages and support, it means alot. I've made great friends throughout my running journey and I wouldn't change it for the world. Chicago 2019 3hrs 20mins 44secs of the most enjoyable running I've had. 1.7 million people cheering you on how could you not love it?
Oh before I stop nattering also a huge well done to David , Mark and Paddy who were all injured coming in and didn't get the training but got through it with determination and smiles. And to Eddie on a savage run for his 1st marathon and Alma running Chicago 2 weeks after Berlin. Inspirational. Also the girls for all their cheers. Cracking memories with you guys
