The most beautiful marathon of The Netherlands took place for the 35th time in Rotterdam on Sunday in ideal marathon running weather.This high quality marathon is well known for its fast times, professional organization and the many enthusiastic supporters along the course. The world's top athletes started on the bustling Coolsingel, alongside ten thousands of other runners who triumphed, each in their own unique way. The marathon weekend was a wonderful blend of (top)sport and festival. No other marathon in The Netherlands can match the ambiance which is felt in Rotterdam. The atmospheric start and finish at Coolsingel,was enjoyed by all.. Sean Murphy from Trim AC recorded a great personal best in this race completing the course in 2h43m. Sean who has won the county half marathon title in early March put in a great run to finish well up in the M40 age group against top European opposition. Dunshaughlin AC were also well represented with Mick Summerville leading their crew home
