Posted by Ciaran Tobin on 23 November 2017
Well done to our team of Sean Murphy, Hannah Gilligan, Caoimhe Rowe and John Halton who finished third senior team in the inaugural Meath XC senior relays at Navan Adventure Centre.
The GU16 team was second and the BU16 team was third. The club was VERY well represented with a total of 15 squads turning out to represent the club. Special thanks to the coaches , club officers and parents for putting in such a great effort and getting teams out. Its what its all about !

REPORT BY ELAINE McEVOY HERE
A Big congratulations to those who competed in the Meath Cross Country Relay Championships to-day in Navan Racecourse.
We had 6 teams competing in Pat's group and what performances we had from all our athletes.
This was a tough course with starting on a hill and finishing on a hill so thanks for that Pat : )
All our athletes were up against the best of the best in each age group and where a number of these athletes are All Ireland champs.
Our U/12 girls were the first up, with a lot of teams competing and only running for the first time together, they ran a great powerful race.
We had 2 teams for our U/14 Girls which was a first for our group and again with a a number of teams competing, these girls ran a superb race and with one of our teams just missing out on a medal.
Up next was the U/14 Boys Plus the only Girl in the competition, she certainly gave the boys a run for their money as she pushed her way through the crowd. Not many would have ran with the boys so well done to Blaithnaid Vaughan. We also had Adam Curran who had to move up two age groups where he should have only ran a 250m but he moved up to U/14's and had to run a 500m. Along with their teammates, they certainly were outstanding.
Our U/16 Girls were up next and racing against some tough competition, and with one of our girls sick (hope you're ok now Ava), they ran a brilliant race and came home with the silver
And finally our U/16 Boys were at the starting line and again with some great teams in their race, they gave it their all and came home with the bronze.
