Silver for David

The Irish University Athletics Association staged its annual championships at the Waterford Regional Sports Centre. Two members of the club took part. David Tobin, representing Ulster University,Jordanstown made a successful return to outdoor competition with a new personal best of  7m10 in the long jump earning him second place behind college colleague Adam McMullen, Crusaders. Shane Aston was going well in the combined events competition after three events when an ankle injury sustained in the 110m hurdles forced his withdrawal.He threw 41m49 for fourth place in the javelin and equalled his previous best in the high jump when clearing 1m90.

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
