Great days running in the county half marathon
The Generali Spring Half Marathon was staged in Bohermeen on Sunday. The weather conditions proved to be a bigger challenge than the 13 miles for many of the contestants. Trim AC once again had a great number of runners taking part. The race incorporates the Meath County championships. Our club had individual and team successes in this race which were just rewards for great training efforts put in over the past three months in brutal stormy weather conditions.
Ellen Vitting won the senior womens category. Sean Murphy won the M40 grade, Sandra Cunningham was 3rd in the W50. In the team categories the men finished third to Dunboyne with Dunshaughlin. The team consisted of Sean Murphy, Quinton Bourke, Mark McGee, Mark Melia. The womens team took 4th place behind Dunboyne,NaFianna and Bohermeen. The first four Trim AC women home were Ellen Vitting,Claire Smith, Audrey McHale, Heather Carty. Excellent results and great performances. Proud day for all. Well Done.
