Team double in Athboy5km

An evening of fine weather and a relatively flat course were among the features of the 2018 Streets of Athboy road race staged by Fr Murphy AC on Friday 10 August. Trim AC were out in great numbers for the latest renewal of this race and we were rewarded with wins in both the mens and womens team competitions as well individual wins and places.
Helen Hartnett dipped under the 20 minute mark (19.55) for the first time ever when taking the top spot in the W45 grade and leading our womn to club honours. Her team mates were Petrina Kennedy Edwards, Denise Molloy and Anka Hannuka who combined to score 73 points to prevail by 3 poins over Navan AC.
In the mens team competition the squad of Ronan Moore, Tom Feeley, Kieren Corcoran and Jonathon Nangle clocked in for their win with 38 points with the host club 14 points in arrears.
Individual prizewinners were
Junior men: 1st Jonathon Nangle 17.19; John Halton,18.26.
M35: 2nd Ronan Moore,16.50; Tom Feeley,17.04.
M50: 3rd Mick Counsel, 19.34
M70: 1st David Hawcroft 23.39
W45: 1st Helen Hartnett 19.55
