The Reeks the Bay and Barcelona

KILLARNEY QUEST
Ellen Vitting put in a fantastic effort at the Killarney QUEST Elite race over a distance of 83km. She completed the course in 4h45m. to take second spot behind Laura O Driscoll who snatched to win on the final run.The race took in some of the toughest terrain in and around the Magillicuddy Reeks. Mountain running , cycling and kayaking were the disciplines which the adventure racers undertook.
Darlene Reilly took part in the sport event over 27km. coming home in 2h28m Her husband who has a few years of adventure racing experiance to his name got aound the elite course in 5h11m. Michael Molloy was well up in AG for the Pro event with a great 4 hour effort.
GALWAY BAY HALF AND 10km
Unusually pleasant October weather was the treat which welcomed over 3000 runners to take part in the 2018 Galway Bay Runs to the Claddagh start line on Saturday 6 October.In the 10km Ciaran Tobin, Ann Tobin, Mairead McMorrow, Jane Murphy and Mairead Heffernan were among the 1500 competitors who took on the scenic route from the mouth of the Corrib through Salthill to Knocknacarra and back.
In the half marathon Sean Murphy, Mary Carr , Audrey McHale McDonnell used the race to fine tune their preparations for the DCM. Trevor McDonnell, John McMorrow, Paul Hegarty, Paula Hegarty, Laura Cotter were very pleased with their races.
BARCELONA IRONMAN
Well done to Gearoid Rogers who put his months of long runs, challenging cycles and numerous hours in Collinstown lake to the test in competition at the Barcelona Ironman on Sunday. He was very pleased to put all the hours of diligent preparation and training to the test in the Med and along the Bareclona seafront on Sunday 7 October. and come across the line to the cheers of Anita in 11h33m. CONGRATULATIONS MISSION COMPLETE.
