Three medals at national indoors

Posted by Ciaran Tobin on 18 February 2019

The Athletics Ireland national indoor championships were held at the Indoor Arena, Abbotstown over the weekend. Trim athlete Shane Aston had a great set of results as part of his preparation for another season of decathlon competition.
In a surprise result Shane won the high jump in the final competition of the weekend with a leap of 2.00m ahead of fellow Meath athlete Kourosh Foroughi on 1.95m. Earlier in the day Shane vaulted 4.10m for a bronze in the pole vault and also finished third in the 60m hurdles. Shane was very pleased with his efforts and results over the weekend. Earlier this year he won the national indoor heptathlon title and is preparing well for another season of decathlon including some international action.
