TRIM AC Running Workshop
Posted by Paul Hegarty on 9 February 2018
Trim AC are delighted to announce our first ‘Running Workshop’ of 2018
Our Speakers will be:
Peter Mooney
Peter is a local legend in running circles winning accolades and friendships throughout his running career. To date he has run more than 80 marathons at paces most runners dream of while balancing work and family life. So what inspires him to stay competitive and continue putting in the hard yards training over so many years? Peter will discuss his motivations and insights on that elusive formula for success. He will discuss the value of coaching, setting realistic goals and tips on resting. He will also consider how road running has changed and what the future might hold. His talk will be of interest to seasoned runners hoping to move to the next level, those running simply for leisure and those just starting out.
David Tobin
David is a performance nutritionist with the Institute of Sport and promotes a food first approach. He has an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition and is registered with SENr. He will cover energy availability and nutrient timing to optimise training adaptation and nutrition to assist recovery from injury. While TRIM AC runners have benefited from his expertise with nutrition plans for pre and post marathon training, his talk will be of benefit to non runners and runners alike.
Andrew Revington
The evening will be chaired by our very own Andrew Revington. Andrew had a stellar 2017 which included collecting the coveted Six Star Finisher’s Medal in 2017 following his completion of the Six Marathon Majors. He capped the year with a sub 3 hour Dublin marathon. Andrew may have some tips too!
The format of the evening will consist of a presentation from each of the speakers, followed by a questions and answers session. All welcome.
