Meath 10km championships which were incorporated into the Fr Murphy AC road race at Kildalkey.

Thanks to the officers of Meath Athletics and especially the host club Fr Murphy AC for putting on another succesful edition of this fine race.

Great winning performance by Heather Carty, Linda Lewis, Audrey McHale and Ann Tobin to win the womens team title and the open team event. There were individual category wins for Audrey, Ann and Carrie Brogan while Heather stormed to third place overall. Paula Hegarty and Anita Rogers both finished third in their respective age groups.

In the mens categories the first three slots in the M45 grade went to Enda Markey,Barry Harten and Don Mahon. In the overall Sean Murphy made light of last weekends exertions which earned him a spectacular third place in his age group at the Rotterdam Marathon by running into second in county in this race. Declan Swords was 3rd M50 and Brian Cully 3rd M55.

All round it was a satisfying day for the Trim contingent and the fine form they have shown in the earlier road championships at the Trim 10 and the Bohermeen Half has been continued.
