Two impressive team wins in County Half

Cold and blustery conditions made the Bohermeen Spring Half a bit more challenging than usual on Sunday 10 March. Our club was out in force once again with 48 of our members out to support our near neighbours with this race which continues to grow in popularirty and quality of the field.
The mens team of Sean Murphy,1.14.54; Quinto Bourke,1.21.29; Kieran Corcoran,1.21.41; and Kevin Higgins,1.24.28 scored an impresssive 250 points in the county club standings to take a clear win by a margin of 98 points ahead of Dunboyne,348 points and Fr Murphy AC,377 points.
In the womens team competition the winning margin was even more impressive. They emerged winners of the club title on a score of 164 with Bohermeen on 373 points and Star of the Sea AC,430 points. The Trim quartet was Ellen Vitting,1.32.15; Helen Halligan,1.36.46;Leonie,Dyar,1.37.16; Heather Carty,1.38.46.
In the individual categories there were Trim names to the fore across the board.
Medal winners in mens grades were Sean Murphy,1st Male, 1.14.54. Mark McGee, 1st M45,1.25.03. Pat Comey,1st M60,1.49.46. Barry Harten,2nd M50,1.29.32. John Nugent,3rd M50,1.34.07,Fergus Tully,2nd M55,1.37.33.
Medal winners in womens grades were Ellen Vitting 3rd Female,1.32.15; Helen Hartnett,1st,W45,1.36.46.Ulrike Strubing,1st W50,1.43.17.Carrie Brogan,3rd W55,2.02.42.
