Five members of Trim AC headed to Germany for the 2019 Berlin Marathon which took place on Sunday 29 September. Conditions were quite good and the course is definitely suited to posting a good time. Petrina Kennedy Edwards has trained very well over the summer months and her preparation was rewarded when she whacked 10 minutes off her previous best for the distance coming home in 3h28. Next across the line from Trim was Olivier Rodriguez in 3h35. Following close behind was Ciara Delany Stewart 3h36 who has shown massive improvement during the year. Helen Hartnett recovered fro a mid race mishap at a drinks station to battle her way home in 3h40. Don Rosney clocked 4h55. The Trim group were joined by Petrinas sister Alma who runs for Fr Murphy AC for and other Meath club members for post race refreshments !
In Rathfarnham 5km there was another notable age group result for Ava Costello. She finished 2nd in the Junior Female category running well to run 18.48. Mick Counsel got under 18 minutes for the first time with a 17m50 effort.
In Navan David O Connor was first man home in the Gaelscoil Eanna 7km with a time of 22m42.
