Caoimhe Rowe representing Boyne Community School finished second in the senior girls combined events cship in Athlone IT arena on Saturday 13 October. The silver medal is Caoimhes first individual medal at national level. She scored 2416 points from her five events which was won by Laura Cunningham from Presentation School, Athenry on 2691 points. Caoimhe rounded off her competition with 700 points in the 800m running a very good 2m49s.

The breakdown of her events were as follows

High Jump, 429 points, 1.32m;  

60m Hurdles, 538 points,10.99s;

Shot putt 331, 6.94m:

Long Jump  418 points, 4.46m;

800 metres, 700 points, 2:29.42.

 

Join our club

We have juvenile and adult training groups. We cover track and field, cross country, road running and trail/ mountain running. Club coaches have undertaken Athletics Ireland coaching courses and many of them bring years of experience and knowledge to share with members.
