1.When did you start running

2014

2. When did you join Trim AC ?

2015

3.Why do you run ?

Camraderie. I knew some runners from my job driving kids to school.  I also drove the bus to the mini marathon and numerous Dublin marathons and thought it would be a good idea to link up.

4.Favourite event, race or competition ?

The Na Fianna Bob Heffernan 5km in Johnstownsbridge

5. Have you any pre event routine apart from your warmup ?

No just go through a good warm up.

6. Favourite type of training. ?

No particular session just like to keep a bit of variety.

7.Who is your athletics hero ?

I have a sporting hero, Shane Lowry

8. What is your best memory from the sport ?

I was just so satisfied to complete the Trim 10 mile road race in 2016 I nearly fell on my face crossing the line with exhaustion. I havent ran it since because I decided to use my rally marshall experience to give something back to the club and get all the runners around the course safely.

9. What is the best race or athletics competition you ever watched but did not take part in ?

I have a huge interest in motorsport as an official and competitor so the 2017 Rally of Poland is the best event I ever attended as a spectator.

10. What aspect of the sport gives you satisfaction ?

The good feeling you get when a training session or a race has been completed.

11. How important is group training to you ?

I really enjoy the help that comes from training with others . Training sessions are better when people take on the task and stick together to see it through.

12. Has the sport influenced life in general ?

Of all the fitness things I have ever undertaken running has been the very best for losing weight. It has also been good for the head as it helps you relax and unwind.

13 . Have you a favourite meal before or after events ?

Not fussy about either.

!4. What motivates you to go training on a wet and windy day ?

You can’t get the weather on order for race day. If it spills rain on race day you can’t very well go home so you get out and do your stuff on the worst of days.

15. What advice would you give a new member ?

Sign up quick.!!!!
