HELEN HARTNETT all go and always on the go !
1.When did you take up running?
8 years ago when I was living in States I joined the gym and fell in love with the treadmill.Three months later I was running mountain trails with locals
2.When did you join Trim AC ?
I joined Trim AC in March 2017 because I had signed up for my first marathon in October 2017 and needed encouragement and a push!
3. Favourite race other than our own Braveheart or the Trim 10 ?
Bohermeen 1/2 marathon
4. How do you refuel ?
Black coffee!
5. Pre Race meal ?
Black coffee, banana, boiled egg, brown toast.
6. Miles or KMs ?
Miles
7. Any superstitions or rituals ?
None
8. Road, track or XC ?
Road
9. Why do you run ?
I love running and it's good for head space and physical wellbeing!
10. Faourite memory in athletics ?
First female home in Portumna Forest Marathon in 2019!
11. What do you miss in the lockdown ?
Definitely the social aspect!
12. Favourite moment in the sport when you were not competing ?
Pacing 80 mins at Trim 10 miler in 2019. It's was a pure joy helping runners achieve their targets.
13. Who is your running hero ?
My running peers who are always there to help, encourage, push me and motivate me!
14. Split shorts or tight shorts ?
Tight shorts!
15. What do you listen to when running ?
Spotify!
