Joined Trim athletic club in 2018
3.Why do you run ?
To be honest it clears the mind and try and keep fit
4.Favourite event, race or competition ?
Love all adventure races multiple discipline sports are great fun. Road races are great crack try to do as many as I can. Trim 10 mile and sea to summit best races.
5. Have you any pre event routine apart from your warmup ?
No real routine just try and have your day as normal as possible no big changes on the day.
6. Favourite type of training. ?
Love speed work and hill repeats… They are very challenging but very rewarding.. as they say no pain no gain.
7.Who is your athletics hero ?
No real hero . I love seeing our local racers competing at top levels. This I find very inspiring. For a small town/ club we have some of the best athletes in a lot of disciplines be it running adventure races and ultra races.
8. What is your best memory from the sport ?
Love that feeling you get crossing line knowing the hard work you put in paid off.. and the encouragement from all
around during a race. Running is a solo sport but very social..
9. What motivates you to train ?
Having a goal and race to look forward to… it hard at the moment with the times we're in.
10. What aspect of the sport gives you satisfaction ?
Feeling fit and motivated
11. How important is group training to you ?
It essential as like it or not we need encouragement and levels to test ourselves.. I train with ultimate conditioning Bernard Smith and TRIM AC which I feel helped me to a level you will never get on your own
12. Has the sport influenced life in general ?
Yes has made me very motivated and more out going.
13 . Have you a favourite meal before or after events ?
Not before but after races I love a bag of chips and a pint
